“Back spasms, pain, plantar fasciitis and muscle strains are things I no longer have. I’ve been working with Johanna to help improve my mobility and flexibility; I have said good-bye to muscle relaxants and pain killers. She has helped me develop a mobility, stretching and even a yoga practice which I can live with and is making notable improvements in my life. I am more balanced, centered, I feel better and people say I’m just more fun. She thoroughly understands how to avoid and recover from injuries which allows me to guide myself back into physical fitness, with balance and good health. Johanna shares her wisdom and understanding as a guide and a teacher. She can work with anyone, but loves the people who put the work in and love to learn. Thank you Johanna! You have given me a path to improved mobility, flexibility and a healthier lifestyle. ”

“I have taken Johanna’s yoga classes a few times and find her to be very knowledgeable. I’ve practiced yoga for years and have had many teachers and Johanna’s understanding of yoga matches the best of them”

She has also studied Thai Therapeutic Bodywork from TMC Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai, Thailand The Vedic Conservatory, and Lotus Palm.

“Johanna is absolutely a brilliant yoga teacher. She knows so much about the body and explains it in the most simple, easy to understand fashion. She is just what i was hoping to find to begin my private in home yoga practice since i am a beginner. After just a few classes i felt stronger and more flexible. I’m now taking classes with Johanna every week. Highly recommend!”

“This past winter I had the opportunity to experience Johanna’s private therapeutic movement & Yoga sessions. Through Johanna’s deep understanding of the musculoskeletal system, sessions went beyond basic stretches and yoga poses and allowed me to go deeper in my personal practice to work on long term aches and pains. My only concern is that I have to wait until next winter to see her again. I am grateful for having the chance to work with her.”

“In this fast paced and unsettling world we live in coming to Johanna’s yoga private practice allows me to bring my mind, body and soul back into balance. I couldn’t do without it and the effort I receive from an awesome teacher like Johanna. Excellent teaching. An atmosphere of peace & serenity. ”

“YOGA DOES NOT JUST CHANGE THE WAY WE SEE THINGS, IT TRANSFORMS THE PERSON WHO SEES”

-B.K.S IYENGAR

Yoga ignited a profound transformation in my life. My journey with this ancient practice began in my mid to late twenties. Although I had dabbled in vinyasa and Hatha classes during my early twenties, I failed to grasp the true essence of yoga. Back then, I saw it merely as a means of getting in some cardio and improving my flexibility.

Little did I know that it would take me three years to uncover the deeper layers of yoga's wisdom. I was physically flexible but emotionally unstable. My breath was shallow, and I rushed through poses without a hint of mindfulness. Instead of connecting with my practice, I found myself constantly judging my performance. I hardly listened to my teachers; my thoughts often wandered to unrelated matters. It was a superficial experience, lacking in depth.

My profound shift in understanding occurred at the age of 28 when I was introduced to Ayurveda, a 5,000-year-old self-healing system rooted in India. Ayurveda became my guiding light, fostering self-awareness and helping me comprehend my current state, my imbalances, and my VATA mind. This newfound wisdom began to manifest in my asana practice. I started to nourish my body with mindful dietary choices, refine my breath, and approach yoga with a heightened consciousness. I even began to establish a self-practice while still attending classes.

My quest for knowledge led me to seek the right teachers, the right school, and an array of insightful books. I inquired, I explored, and I meticulously honed my alignment. The true revelation came when I learned how to listen, to stay present, and to connect with every pose. Self-awareness became my guiding star.

While I am far from being a master, this profound self-discovery ignited my desire to inspire others. Today, I proudly wear the hat of a yoga teacher, but I remain a devoted student at heart. The practice of yoga is an ever-evolving journey within my mind and body, as it is for all of us. Yoga, as eloquently described in the Bhagavad Gita, is "the journey of self, through the self, to the self." It invites us to shed our ego, release our negative thoughts, break free from the stories we weave, and shun the shackles of competition. Instead, it beckons us to embrace a world of love, compassion, mindful breathing, conscious movement, and nourishing nutrition. This path requires effort and patience, but even small steps, such as focusing on our breath, cultivating gratitude, moving with mindfulness, and practicing the art of being present, awaken our raw, authentic expression of our highest selves.

Our purpose is in the art of being, a journey towards inner truth. It's a journey that calls us to connect with our truest selves, radiating with love and light.

“Working with Johanna has been amazing! I have been working with her for over a year now and I feel so much more connected with my body … and more flexible and limber than I’ve ever felt in my life. ” - Patrick B.

“Johanna… is a terrific personal trainer. Her most striking trait is her deep empathy with the client and full focus on establishing a positive connection: she drives you to achieve astonishing results. When I met her, I was not aware of her past as an athlete and successful model. Being a doctor, I appreciated her solid knowledge of physiology and experience with a variety of training methodologies, ranging from yoga to HIIT, to build strenght along with flexibility. She developed a personalized program that always pushed me to obtain meaningful improvements. She made each workout challenging, creative and most importantly enjoyable. I consider myself lucky to have worked with  Johanna and wholeheartedly recommend her to all interested in setting the foundation for improved fitness and a healthier lifestyle.”—Monica T. MD

Yogascapes: The Artistry of Body and Pose

a poem by johanna sambucini

In Yogascapes, a canvas vast and wide, The human body, art's greatest stride,

A tapestry of beauty, grace, and form, Where poses blend, a dance to transform.

Each woman's body, a work of art, Infinite beauty from the very start,

Curves and lines in harmonious array, Creating shapes in a captivating display.

From downward dog to warrior's fierce stance, Bodies sculpted in a graceful dance,

Each pose a brushstroke on life's canvas grand, In Yogascapes, we understand.

The softness of a gentle bend, The strength in every warrior's send,

Yogini's grace in tree pose tall, A masterpiece of form, we enthrall.

Through sun salutations, hearts take flight, In crescent moon, a radiant sight,

The human body as nature's art, In Yogascapes, we play our part.

With each asana, a stroke of the brush, Intricate patterns that gently hush,

The mind's chaos and stress it frees, A living masterpiece, the yoga breeze.

In the beauty of women's bodies we find, A celebration of the feminine divine,

Their strength and grace, a sacred art, In Yogascapes, they play their part.

So let us cherish these body scapes, Where art and yoga beautifully equate,

In the shapes we create with every breath, Yogascapes, a masterpiece, beyond life's depth.
